The Heirloom Tomato Bar and other Wedding Weekend Delights

Congratulations, Noah and Meghan! And, yay for those of us who got to slurp up delicious homegrown tomatoes and cheese, dance like we did in our kitchen in college and visit with old friends (Amber!) who – despite thousands of miles and several years – feel as close as they did when we shared the second floor apartment with the Easter-colored walls.

It’s wedding season at this time in life.
Let the gushing begin.

Night Lights

Big 3-0 Birthday Party Saturday night in Mar Vista. Jake’s friend from high school and college with whom he has reunited since moving out here. Lots of actors and filmmakers and producers and at least one costume designer/stylist. And, lots of guacamole, lentils, ice cream cake and candles.

(This last shot is of Telly, the dog. Named after Telly, the man.)

Facebook Art

I made a personal pledge to stay off Facebook from 10 – 11 a.m. That lasted until about 10:15.

When I see New Photos like these, posted in sequence from two different people (not Friends with each other), snapped thousands of miles away from each other, I’m grateful for such empty promises.

Trashy Car

Cleaned out the car yesterday. Most of the stuff was mine: iPhone cords, coffee cups and seltzer cans. Part of the glory of wheels is the ability to make it one’s own. To make the passenger side floor into a recycling bin and the backseat/trunk into a photo studio/surf shop/running store. But, every six months or so, I have to clean it out. If only so I can find my running socks, camera batteries and sweatshirts.

The car feels empty now.
