They weren't that big though.<br><br>It was very odd being in this huge city surrounded by natural disaster and commercial devastation (smoke-smelling people checking into our hotel with the last of their belongings in trash bags) and everybody just went about their own business.<br>Over several days I sat in air conditioned board rooms and discussed contracts while outside the hills burned.<br>I felt like Nero, fiddling away....eerie. wow, big time.
I flew through (literally) the smoke plumes during last year's fires on my way to several corporate meetings in LA. They weren't that big though.
