Mornin’ Monday

Inspired by Design Observer, whose authors – before work each day – compile images from pamphlets, magazines, posters, and The Internets of Stuff They Dig, I decided to start Mornin’ Monday. It’ll be a Good Morning to the day and to the week. And will only be one picture. That I enjoy.

Here it is. The first one.

It’s a picture of The Northern Lights from space.

Why I chose it:

1. Who has seen the Northern Lights (from the shore of Burntside Lake, in a field Karmê Chöling or on the dock at Camp Stony, for example) and not felt small, in awe and like the luckiest person on earth to witness something so unearthly.

2. The Aurora are heavily featured in the book J and I are reading.

3. Is this for real? The UK’s Telegraph says Yes.

Have not been fortunate enough to see them yet.....hopefully one day from atop McKinley??
  • c_lloyd: McKinley/Denali is an awesome idea! I say go for it! Add it to your list of Things To Do In This Life! It'll be magic! (And then blog about it, so we can all experience it, too!)
